Kelsey Millan, LMSW
Kelsey Millan is a Social Worker at Herald Square Psychology. Kelsey received her Master of Social Work from Adelphi University School of Social Work and is a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York State. Kelsey worked several years with individuals with developmental disabilities. Kelsey has provided trauma-informed and strengths-based support to victims and survivors of intimate partner violence. More recently Kelsey provided preventive and clinical support through psychotherapy to college students with diverse backgrounds in individual and group settings. Kelsey utilizes evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychoeducation, and motivational interviewing.
Kelsey believes in supporting the individual’s autonomy, acknowledging their values and opinions, and strengthening self-esteem. Therapy can assist in learning from past experiences while living in the present. Therapy takes courage, strength, and patience. Kelsey believes in working together with clients to assess their needs, building trust, and exploring issues. Kelsey encourages individuals to talk about and explore their feelings, attitudes, and behaviors. Kelsey does her best to provide a safe and supportive environment in order to bring about meaningful and positive change in the way clients think and behave.
