Mary Mercandetti, LCSW
Mary Mercandetti is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who adopts a Psychodynamic and Interpersonal Approach to Psychotherapy. Mary is also well-trained and experienced in Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Mary's approach to therapy is not a one-size-fits-all; rather, the treatment approach is determined by the unique needs and characteristics of the person seeking help.
Mary Mercandetti has experience working with several different problem areas, including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, marital problems, as well as issues relating to sexual orientation and gender identity. Mary has experience working with adults as well as couples, and has worked with people from a variety of different cultural/ethnic backgrounds.
Mary Mercandetti graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Salisbury University in Maryland. She then received her Master’s Degree from Adelphi University in New York. During her academic years, Mary completed internships in which she provided substance abuse counseling to people struggling with drug and alcohol addictions. She also provided psychotherapy to adults, children, and families. Since graduating with her Master’s Degree, Mary has continued to provide high-quality psychotherapy services to adults and couples.
