Dr. Christina Gille

Dr. Gille is a post-doctoral psychology resident at Herald Square Psychology. Dr. Gille completed her undergraduate studies in New York, earning an A.S. in Criminal Justice from Nassau Community College and her B.A. in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Dr. Gille continued on to graduate studies, earning her M.A. and PsyD. in Clinical Forensic Psychology from Alliant International University in San Diego, California.

Dr. Gille has gained extensive experience throughout her training. She has completed her practicum at Stepping Stone of San Diego, a non-profit alcohol and drug recovery agency primarily serving the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities of San Diego.
Dr. Gille completed her pre-doctoral internship at Sovereign Health Group in San Clemente California, providing adult residential treatment for mental health disorders, substance abuse and eating disorders. Upon completion of her internship, she began her post-doctoral fellowship at Sovereigns new facility for adolescents in Rancho San Diego California. Dr. Gille completed her post-doctoral hours with California Department of Corrections in Sacramento California, providing treatment to inmates diagnosed with mental illness. Dr. Gille moved on to become the Outpatient Supervisor for an outpatient substance abuse program in Sacramento California, developing the program and providing group and individual therapy to clients. Dr. Gille also managed sober living apartments that some outpatient clients resided in. Dr. Gille ultimately returned to New York and worked at Sing Sing Correctional Facility, providing assessment and treatment to inmates in the Security Housing Unit.

​Dr. Gille’s experiences have allowed her to work with individuals with a wide range of diagnoses. Furthermore, she has experience treating individuals from a variety of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Her specialties include treating people in the criminal justice system, at risk youth, personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and substance abuse/dependence. Dr. Gille takes an integrative approach with clients, understanding that people present with a variety of different needs. Dr. Gille believes that it is important to meet the client where they’re at, utilizing a person-centered approach, listening without judgment and acknowledging the client’s experience. Dr. Gille implements a variety of evidenced based therapies to best help each individual client. She is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety, SMART Recovery, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Informed Care.​
